Arsenal Under-21s Coach Impressed by Gedion Zelalem on Debut

      A highly regarded midfielder who is eligible to play for Germany or Ethiopia, Gedion will join Arsenal on a full-time basis this season having impressed during a trial in 2011.

     

Earmarked for an incredibly bright future, Gedion shone for the under-18s on his debut at that level in the pre-season friendly with Chelsea and was also selected to train with the Brazil Olympic squad at London Colney.

Arsenal Under-21s Coach Impressed by Gedion Zelalem on Debut

  Gedion Zelalem impressed on his Arsenal Under-21s debut against Liverpool at Anfield on Monday evening.

Arsenal Under-21s coach Steve Gatting told Arsenal.com: 

"He came out of it with a lot of credit. He's only 16 and that was the first game he's played for the Club at a competitive level, and what a place to make your debut! He came out of it well. He shows for the ball a lot. He's got a bit of presence on the pitch and he passed it well."
